Children´s Rights today: achievements and challenges

III International Solidarity Conference 2010

The Conference will take place in Seville on 26th, 27th and 28th of October 2010 under the slogan Children´s Rights today: achievements and challenges in which the following three main topics will be addressed:

• Child participation
• The United Nation’s Millenium Development Goals-Keeping the Promise
• State of the children in Spain.

This event intends to generate a space for awareness and education. The aim is to implicate all citizens in the strive to achieve the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals, in the promotion of effective measures to combat the worst forms of global poverty and exclusion and in the thorough development and exercise of children’s rights.

Registration and participation in the conference will be recognised as 2 free elective credits, awarded by the University of Seville and the University of Pablo de Olavide.

This conference is intended for professionals, volunteers, students, members of ONGs, institutions and organizations dedicated to International Development, education and social action, public institutions and, in general, all those who are interested in the Rights of the Child and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

In order to achieve the objectives of the Conference, the round-tables, communications and presentations will combine experience with reflections on each of the topics.
